DC Studios is developing a new movie featuring Bane, the super-steroid injecting villain from The Dark Knight Rises, alongside fellow antagonist Deathstroke. The script is being written by Matthew Orton, who is known for his work on Captain America: Brave New World. However, no director has been attached to the project yet.
Bane was introduced in the early 1990s by Chuck Dixon and Graham Nolan. He was raised in a Caribbean prison, where he honed his fighting skills and absorbed knowledge from international criminals. After undergoing a brutal steroidal experiment, he gained immense strength but became addicted to the serum that enhanced him.
Bane made his mark in the famous Knightfall storyline, where he broke Batman's back, catapulting him to the top of Batman's rogues gallery. The character has appeared in video games, TV shows, and was notably portrayed by Tom Hardy in The Dark Knight Rises.
While Deathstroke will also play a role in the film, Bane's inclusion highlights DC's growing focus on villain-centered stories. This follows the success of films like Joker and the recent Penguin series.
Matthew Orton, known for his gritty and grounded narratives, brings his expertise to the project, signaling a fresh and intense approach to Bane's story.
